Prayer Bears
St Paul’s Anglican Church, Monaco is constantly seeking meaningful ways to show God’s love within the community it serves and is blessed to have members with a wide range of talents, gifts and connections to support this mission.
Our Centenary celebrations have inspired everyone to look out for exciting ways to reach out to those in need both through direct action and through appropriate fundraising for worthy local causes.
One such landmark initiative is the St Paul’s Prayer Bear, made possible thanks to a very generous donation from Warmies®, the UK’s leading manufacturer of microwaveable plush products.
The Warmies® team has created an adorable bear, made from the highest quality materials, with a natural buckwheat filling that can be a source of either warm or cool comfort, and is scented with soothing lavender.
Each bear comes with two messages in French and English – firstly the embroidered message on the tummy, “God is Love”, and secondly, a card reminding everyone that church is a place they can belong.
“We are thrilled to celebrate Saint Paul’s Church’s centenary by contributing to its incredible work in the community. Our Warmies Bears are designed to bring comfort and smiles, and we hope they will brighten the lives of those touched by Saint Paul’s efforts.”
Putting the Prayer Bears into Action
The Prayer Bears are small but mighty – as well as bringing happiness to those that receive them, they will help raise funds for even more good work!
It is important that these bears reach as many households and organisations as possible, so there are two ways that you can support this Centenary initiative:
1. Make a donation and receive a bear to bring a smile to someone you know (a maximum of 3 per household)
AND/OR
2. Sponsor a group of 5 bears to go out into the world and bring joy to someone you don’t know (feel free to sponsor as many groups of bears as you would like!)
There is a suggested minimum donation of 30 euros per bear, but of course you can choose to give more if you wish.
It’s easy to request the Prayer Bears – simply complete the form below. The Chaplain will then contact you and arrange a time for you to go to the Chaplain’s Apartment, usually within a week of submitting your form.
Your donation can be made either in cash or by card using the Tap’n’Go payment machine.
