Confirmation

Introduction

If you are over the age of 11 and have been baptised then come with us on a journey towards Confirmation as an adult Christian who takes responsibility for their own faith. Remember – there is no upper age limit!

The Programme

OUR PROGRAMME WILL COVER THE FOLLOWING TOPICS:

  • What it means to be a Christian in the 21st century (with a particular focus on the Church of England)
  • The different traditions of the Church
  • What it means to pray
  • How to approach reading the Bible
  • The Sacraments of Holy Baptism and Holy Communion
  • How to develop a Rule of Life…and much more!

LEARNING TOGETHER

All candidates, young and old, learn together to lay foundation stones for the Christian journey in a relaxed format that features lively discussions and sharing their varied experiences, while supporting each other along the way.

THE CONFIRMATION SERVICE

The special Confirmation service itself is joyous and happy occasion where the candidates are surrounded by family, friends and the congregation of their Church.

The confirmation is conducted by a Bishop who commissions the candidates in an act that goes back to the very earliest times of the church, as recorded in Acts of the Apostles chapter 8 verse 17, with the words “Confirm O Lord this your servant.”

And so, the next stage of your journey begins.
