Join us for our 10.30am Service of Remembrance on Sunday 9th November, as we gather in solemn remembrance of all who gave their lives in service of our freedom.
Two pupils from the British School of Monaco will present poppy posies to the altar followed by two French pupils of bleuets, both flowers motifs of national remembrance. The Union Flag will be presented to the Chaplain by Group Captain Andy Calame, former Equerry to Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth and current member of The King’s Honorary Bodyguard. The Exhortation and Kohima will be recited, Last Post and Reveille sounded, two minutes silence observed, and the Piper’s Lament will be played.
Following refreshments after the service we will move to the bust of Sir Winston Churchill for a brief service which will include John McCrae’s poem, “In Flanders Fields” read by a member of the Canadian community in Monaco. The British Consul will also lay a wreath on behalf of the British community here in the Principality.
