Early Essentials is a charity started by two Manchester mums with young children who were inspired by a project in a nearby city. This church-based project aimed to provide practical help for new mothers who could not afford the basic essentials necessary to look after their newborns.
They reached out to local midwives and health practitioners to find out if there was the same need in Greater Manchester, and in Spring 2015 they set up Early Essentials.
This charity works to help vulnerable new mothers by providing newborn baskets filled with essential items. Our Prayer Bears will also be placed in these baskets.
They have expanded and in addition to their Manchester centre, they have centres in Warrington, Peterborough, Whitby, Ballymoney and Wigan.
To date they have helped over 5,000 vulnerable women.
