On June 28th, St Paul’s chaplain had the pleasure of welcoming pupils from The Queen’s School, Chester to the church whilst on their school trip to Monaco. The girls were given a tour of the church and insight into its work in the Principality and beyond. As well as the 100-year history of the church, Fr Hugh explained how the church has helped hundreds of people not only in the area but around the world, particularly through our Prayer Bear campaign.
Whilst our vibrant and stimulating surroundings can give an impression of perfection, our church in Monte Carlo acts as a refuge for those who are sick, have fallen on hard times or may be struggling in ways known to God only. The pupils appreciated the church’s role as a grounding influence in the region and how the it resists the temptation to strive for glamour and show, and instead dedicates its efforts to traditional Christian worship. With this in mind, the chaplain gave his parting advice to the pupils: always remain genuine in life.
