Hope Swales was born in Minneapolis Minnesota, January 19, 1960. After a childhood of moving around with her engineer father, her family settled in Connecticut where she received a BA in French and a BS in Marketing from the University of Connecticut. After working in marketing for French companies based in NYC, she moved into the art world; working at the Marisa del Re Gallery, NYC. In 1991 she moved to Monaco to organise the “Biennale de Sculpture” exhibitions Marisa del Re created in 1987. She later worked for Galerie Marlborough Monaco. For the past 15 years has been working in art and interior design.
Hope and Jeremy were married at St Paul’s church in 1997 and soon became regular parishioners. Their three children were baptized, attended Sunday School which Hope helped lead, played Baby Jesus, angels and Wise Men in the Christmas plays, and were confirmed at St Paul’s.
As a child, her family were active members of the Episcopal Church in every city they resided. This tradition and faith has found a welcoming home at St Paul’s Anglican Church Monaco.
